Project 3 - Design Process

The design of the parti is site oriented. I considered about the geometry of the urban fabric and the aspect of a corner site.


Surrounding context is explored to an ideal front and rear access to the gallery, that even more explains the sense of the site.

A combination of the site context and the characteristic of Newtown is as well explored. The force of Wilson Street is continued through by creating an axial effect for the 2 entrances facing Erskineville Road and the small garden at the side. Alongside with the side access feature of some Newtown buildings have influenced the way of forming a public gesture during the visit to the suburb.
